Small ribbons fill winds around stitched medallions and applique.
Ann Sarels quilt is a combination of applique and large open areas. The feather medallion stencil pattern works well set on point as it nests into the applique, eliminating a lot of ditch work.
Here you see the large open areas about 12" blocks and the beautiful ribbon as it winds around all the design elements... this is fun, fast and easy.
Here Debi used the TT template in the squares and also in the sashings and border...check out the parallel lines and arches over the charming bird print.
notice the TT in the blocks plus a smaller version in the triple sashing and sashing corner blocks!! fabulous design layout
These fabrics her husband brought back from a tour of duty to the middle east and her top waited 10 years for just the right pattern....I think that may be metallic thread as well.
here is the quilt in progress...beautiful!!
Ruth Weir has been busy...the above quilt and following five quilts are a testiment to Ruth's love and passion for machine quilting...wonderful work Ruth, thanks for sharing with us.
Beautiful Ruth, just charming
This is a very special feather sampler done by Renee in Michigan. She was given a class in my Paducah Studio by a quilter, Sue, who saw her work posted on the internet. She also sent her Bernina QE153 to sew with because she thought Renee had a lot of talent....I think we can all agree. And now Renee is doing all this wonderful feather work..."mostly freehand" she says. "Thank you so much for the inspiration, I was getting discouraged with my work, your timing was perfect."
WOW Renee!
It is a wonderful story of how quilters are connect and stay connected...I hope they are able to meet one day....nice work Renee, we cannot wait to see more.
" No words can express my appreciation for what you've shared with me and the quilters who joined us at the workshop. You're truly a fantastic teacher! We'll do this again." Sylvia, GA
"I just wanted to thank you for the excellent training. I believe that your sales knowledge and willingness to teach will be the key to the future success of machine quilters." Sue, WI
From the internet..."I don't think Sally marks. She said something once in a class that changed my life. If you make a mistake repeat it three times. It will looked planned and becomes a design element and I don't have to rip out."
